System Status Events
System Status events display when machine operation is affected or prevented. In MAKE, click the Help link to view the corrective actions for the specific fault or alert. For more information, see System Status.
Event Codes
30.7 The X- or Y-axis cutting stage motor has faulted. Inspect cutting table for obstacle.
305.7 The pump is not communicating.
313.1 The supply water temperature sensor is broken or disconnected.
313.2 The supply water temperature is below the minimum operating limit.
313.3 The supply water temperature is approaching the minimum operating limit.
313.4 The supply water temperature is approaching the maximum operating limit.
313.5 The supply water temperature is above the maximum operating limit.
319.3 Pump motor supply voltage is below the minimum operating limit.
319.4 Pump motor supply voltage is above the maximum operating limit.
323.7 Pump Drive Fault.
330.7 The pump motor exceeded the maximum allowed load.
337.7 The supply water pressure is too low to operate the pump.
338.7 The pump has exceeded the maximum allowed pressure.
339.2 The high pressure sensor readings are inconsistent.
339.5 The high pressure sensor readings are inconsistent.
340.5 Pump pressure has not been totally relieved within the high-pressure plumbing, needs operator attention.
410.6 The lid was opened while running a path.
411.1 Machine controller onboard temperature sensor measurement error
411.4 The machine controller temperature is approaching the operating limit.
411.5 The machine controller temperature is above the maximum operating limit.
502.2 Pump pressure is below the minimum operating limit.
502.3 Pump pressure is approaching the minimum operating limit.
502.4 Pump pressure is approaching maximum operating limit.
502.5 Pump pressure has exceeded the maximum operating limit.
506.3 Pump motor speed is approaching minimum operating limit.
506.4 Pump motor speed is approaching maximum operating limit.
The supply water temperature sensor is broken or disconnected.
Error Code: 313.1
Corrective Actions:
- Check for loose or damaged wiring connections on the supply water temperature sensor.
- Replace the supply water temperature sensor.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
The supply water temperature is below the minimum operating limit.
Error Code: 313.2
Corrective Actions:
- Ensure incoming supply water temperature to the pump is within operating limits.
- If machine is located in a cold environment, purge cold water from the system.
- Use machine spray down nozzle (if equipped).
- Or run test nozzle (several cycles) until temperature returns to within operating limits.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
The supply water temperature is above the maximum operating limit.
Error Code: 313.5
Corrective Actions:
- Ensure incoming supply water temperature to the pump is within operating limits.
- If machine is located in a hot environment, purge hot water from the system.
- Use machine spray down nozzle (if equipped).
- Or run test nozzle (several cycles) until temperature returns to within operating limits.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
The lid was opened while running a path.
Error Code: 410.6
Corrective Actions:
- Close the machine lid completely. Then click Continue machining.
- If the lid switch requires cleaning, use a clean, moist towel or rag with water only to clean it.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump Drive Fault
Error Code: 323.7
Corrective Action:
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump motor drive is overheating.
Error Code: 321.4
Corrective Action:
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
Pump pressure output is unstable and has exceeded the maximum operating limit.
Error Code: 334.5
Corrective Action:
- Contact Technical Support.
The pump motor exceeded the maximum allowed load.
Error Code: 330.7
Corrective Actions:
- Run Reset Pump.
- Inspect nozzle orifice for blockage.
- Remove the nozzle body assembly from the machine, then carefully remove the orifice from the nozzle body assembly.
- Hold the orifice assembly up to a flashlight. If there is no light showing through, or if there are any questions of debris blocking the orifice, the orifice must be replaced.
- After replacing the orifice, run Reset Pump.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump and Nozzle Health
Error Code: 336.3
Corrective Actions:
- Contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
The pump has exceeded the maximum allowed pressure.
Error Code: 338.7
Corrective Actions:
- Run Reset Pump.
- Inspect nozzle orifice for blockage.
- Remove the nozzle body assembly from the machine, then carefully remove the orifice from the nozzle body assembly.
- Hold the orifice assembly up to the light. If there is no light showing through, or if there are any questions of debris blocking the orifice, the orifice must be replaced.
- After replacing the orifice, run Reset Pump.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
The supply water pressure is too low to operate the pump.
Error Code: 337.7
Corrective Actions:
- Ensure supply water is turned ON.
- With pump off, check the water pressure gauge. Raise the water pressure going into the machine to within operating range.
- Inspect incoming water lines for leaks.
- Machine water filter could be dirty and may need to be replaced. Replace the water filter with a new one.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump pressure is below the minimum operating limit.
Error Code: 502.2
Corrective Actions:
- Run Reset Pump and continue to monitor pressure.
- Check for water leaks in the high-pressure lines and fittings, including the nozzle and pump assembly.
- Ensure the nozzle filter seal assembly is installed and is not leaking.
- The orifice inside the nozzle may be damaged and may need to be replaced.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump pressure has exceeded the maximum operating limit.
Error Code: 502.5
Corrective Actions:
- Run Reset Pump and continue to monitor pressure.
- Ensure the nozzle filter seal assembly is not damaged.
- Inspect the nozzle orifice for damage or obstruction and replace if damaged.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
The high pressure sensor readings are inconsistent.
Error Code: 339.2
Corrective Actions:
- Check for loose or damaged wiring connections on the high pressure sensor.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
The high pressure sensor readings are inconsistent.
Error Code: 339.5
Corrective Actions:
- Check for loose or damaged wiring connections on the high pressure sensor.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump pressure has not been totally relieved within the high-pressure plumbing, needs operator attention.
Error Code: 340.5
Corrective Actions:
- Relieve pressure in the high-pressure water lines.
- Loosen the high-pressure nut fitting above the nozzle assembly to relieve the residual pressure.
- Once the water pressure has been relieved, tighten the nut.
- Run Reset Pump to calibrate the high-pressure system.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
The X- or Y-axis cutting stage motor has faulted. Inspect cutting table for obstacle.
Error Code: 30.7
Corrective Actions:
- Ensure high-pressure plumbing movement is not restricted.
- Remove obstacles in the cutting path.
- The nozzle may have collided with the material, slugs, or material holding fixtures.
- Clear the nozzle of obstacles.
- To clear the fault, reset the machine home (re-home the machine).

- If the yellow LED displays, continue to the next section.
- Close MAKE and turn OFF the ProtoMAX machine.
Turn ON the ProtoMAX main power and wait 30 seconds.
Open MAKE.
NoticeDo not select Homing Routine.
- Use the Jog keys to move X and Y for approximately 2 in. (50 mm) in each direction.
- Right-click on the bottom Go Home button, and select Reset Machine Home (Re-Home Machine).
- If event persists, record LED readout and blink sequence for both X and Y axes, and then contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
The pump is not communicating.
Error Code: 305.7
Corrective Action:
- Contact Technical Support.
The supply water temperature is approaching the minimum operating limit.
Error Code: 313.3

- Continue to monitor supply water temperature.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.

- Ensure that incoming supply water temperature to the pump is within the operating limit.
- Continue to monitor supply water temperature.

Pump motor supply voltage is below the minimum operating limit.
Error Code: 319.3
Corrective Actions:

- Contact qualified electrician for assistance.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump motor supply voltage is above the maximum operating limit.
Error Code: 319.4
Corrective Actions:
- See ProtoMAX Utilities Requirements for maximum supply voltage.
- Contact qualified electrician for assistance.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump pressure output is unstable and approaching maximum operating limit.
Error Code:334.4
Corrective Actions:
Machine controller onboard temperature sensor measurement error
Error Code: 411.1
Corrective Action:
1. Close MAKE.
2. Shut down both the computer and machine.
3. After 60 seconds, turn the computer and machine back on.
4. Open MAKE.
If event persists, contact Technical Support.
The machine controller temperature is approaching the operating limit.
Error Code: 411.4
Corrective Actions:
- Ensure ambient temperature is within operating limits.
- Check incoming and outgoing air flow through the controller enclosure.
- Machine controller enclosure filter(s) may need to be cleaned or replaced.
- Controller enclosure fan may be inoperable and may need to be repaired or replaced.
- If the machine is located near a heat source, move it away from the heat source.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
The machine controller temperature is above the maximum operating limit.
Error Code: 411.5
Corrective Actions:
- Ensure ambient temperature is within operating limits.
- Check incoming and outgoing air flow through the controller enclosure.
- Machine controller enclosure filter(s) may need to be cleaned or replaced.
- Controller enclosure fan may be inoperative and may need to be repaired or replaced.
- If the machine is located near a heat source, move it away from the heat source.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump motor speed is approaching minimum operating limit.
Error Code: 506.3
Corrective Actions:
- Run Reset Pump.
- Inspect nozzle orifice for blockage.
- Remove the nozzle assembly from the machine, then carefully remove the orifice from the nozzle assembly.
- Hold the orifice assembly up to the light. If there is no light showing through, or if there are any questions of debris blocking the orifice, the orifice must be replaced.
- After replacing the orifice, run Reset Pump.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
This condition may cause decline in cut quality.
Pump motor speed is approaching maximum operating limit.
Error Code: 506.4
Corrective Actions:
- Run Reset Pump.
- Check for water leaks in the high-pressure lines and fittings, including the nozzle and pump assembly.
- The orifice inside the nozzle may be damaged. If so, you may need to replace it.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
- This condition may cause a decline in cut quality.
- After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump pressure is approaching the minimum operating limit.
Error Code: 502.3
Corrective Actions:
- Run Reset Pump and continue to monitor pressure.
- Check for water leaks in the high-pressure lines and fittings, including the nozzle and pump assembly.
- Ensure the nozzle filter seal assembly is installed and is not leaking.
- The orifice inside the nozzle may be damaged and may need to be replaced.
- If event persists, contact Technical Support.
After repairing leaks, or replacing or repairing parts, run Reset Pump.
Pump pressure is approaching maximum operating limit.
Error Code: 502.4
Corrective Actions:
- Run Reset Pump and continue to monitor pressure.
- Ensure the nozzle filter seal assembly is not damaged.
